What Happens in Cardio Tennis?
Our Cardio Tennis program is taught by Ed Murphy, a Certified Tennis Professional. A typical Cardio Tennis class includes a short dynamic warm-up, a cardio workout and a cool-down phase. The majority of the Cardio Tennis class is the "workout" phase, which lasts 40–50 minutes. Most of this phase includes fast-paced drills featuring Ed feeding balls to players based on their ability and fitness level. Heart-pumping music adds to your enjoyment and energy level. Ed is great at finding ways to keep players moving and challenged....all while having fun!
• 5-10 minute warm-up segment includes footwork drills. Drills are geared to get you prepared for a great cardio workout. Usually dynamic stretches and movement. So, get ready, the action is about to begin!
• 40-50 minute cardio segment includes games. We'll also use the ball machine for some fun workout drills. Every 10 minutes we'll stop and measure our heart rate.
• 5-10 minute cool down segment uses the racquet as a stretching aid. Drills that gradually bring down your heart rate and slow movement while helping to keep your flexibility and recovery rate.
